Rio Tinto Diamonds
The diamond with a story.

A rare combination of beauty, sustainability and collaboration
After decades of exploration in the remote and treeless Barren Lands of Canada’s Northwest Territories, first traces of diamonds were discovered in 1991. Twelve years later, global mining company Rio Tinto opened the Diavik Diamond Mine, now recognized as one of the premiere diamond mines in the world—not only for its jaw-dropping natural stones, but for its innovative engineering, environmentally sustainable mining practices and collaborative work with indigenous communities.
In collaboration with creative agency A+A, we developed a comprehensive design program that included the global brand strategy, identity design for both commercial and consumer markets, product naming and content creation, a suite of international marketing collateral, web and digital media, in store product displays, signage, product packaging and advertising—all tailored for dozens of different countries worldwide.
